About Us

We are a family who loves to eat, which means we cook a lot! Since our kids were young they have been beside us, prepping and learning their way around the kitchen. Both of our kids were given their own knives at a young age (under supervision of course) and taught how to correctly use them.  One of the most important lessons we taught the kids is that knives are sharp! And keeping them sharp is not only safer but makes them more enjoyable and easier to use. 

Finding a place locally to sharpen our knives has been tough, so I offered to pay my son to keep our knives sharp. He did a great job and friends started asking if they could pay him to sharpen their knives too. This need in our community inspired us to create Suburban Houseknives - a family and locally owned business created to help our friends and neighbors keep their knives sharp and cooking fun.

We are located in Richardson, TX near Breckinridge Park. We offer knife sharpening of flat blades and serrated blades.
